Morgan
My name is Morgan, I'm 23 years old from Pennsylvania. I was born with Tetralogy of Fallot. I was born seven and a half weeks early tipping the scales at 3 pounds and 9 ounces. I have already had 4 open heart surgeries and over a dozen cardiac catheterizations. I have and still doctor at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. I was also born with an arm disability. Throughout my life, I have had to overcome many challenges growing up adapting different ways to do simple tasks in life. My first three open heart surgeries were before the age of 4. My fourth one was December of 2012. On October 9th, 2013, I was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with Endocarditis, which is an infection inside the heart. I had many blood clots and was placed on blood thinners. I was away from school for a few months and missed my basketball season. You truly never know how strong you are until it's your only choice. In high school, I got the opportunity to give back and raise funds and awareness for CHD and the hospital that has saved my life numerous times. I have graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in 2020 and I'm currently working on my Master's Degree in Social Work. I know I would not be here without my amazing support system and family around me every day. #CHDAwareness #WarriorWednesday
