HEART FAMILIES & PROVIDERS
Let Us Support You.
At The Brett Boyer Foundation, we understand firsthand the profound financial and emotional toll that a hospital stay can place on both patients and families facing the complexities of CHD. Our hope is to give families peace of mind by offering financial assistance and mental health support so they can focus on what matters most—caring for their loved ones without the added stress of immediate financial concerns.
We also recognize the importance of supporting the dedicated healthcare professionals who care for these families. Just as we advocate for the well-being of CHD families, we believe that healthcare providers must also have the resources and emotional support they need to fulfill their calling and use their talents to the fullest.

Financial Support.
The Brett Boyer Foundation offers financial assistance to individuals with CHD and their families who are receiving care at one of our partner hospitals. This support helps cover immediate needs, such as bills, rent/mortgage, gas, food, lodging, and far too many funerals.
At this time, we only accept financial assistance requests submitted by social workers at our partner hospitals, which are listed below. If you are currently inpatient at a different hospital and need assistance, we strongly encourage you to contact your hospital’s social workers for help in connecting with local support resources.
Partner Hospitals:
Boston Children’s Hospital (Boston, MA)
Children’s Hospital of Atlanta (Atlanta, GA)
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA)
Cincinnati Children’s Hospital (Cincinnati, OH)
Duke Children’s Hospital (Durham, NC)
John’s Hopkins Medical Institute (Baltimore, MD)
Monroe Caroll Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (Nashville, TN)
The Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC)
“Many of the families I work with, their baby is in the hospital for months and they face financial instability that they would not necessarily face if they did not have a sick child. The Brett Boyer Foundation has helped SO many of my families keep their homes by helping pay for their rent or keep their electricity on so they could have power for their baby when their baby is ready to come home. The Brett Boyer Foundation graciously provides gas assistance, so families can visit and be with their babies. I have seen families cry tears of joy at the generosity of the Brett Boyer Foundation. In times when a child has passed away, one of the darkest hours of their lives, the Brett Boyer Foundation has helped these families with funeral assistance. I am forever grateful for everything that the Brett Boyer Foundation has done, and I feel honored to get to tell families Brett’s story and what her family has done in her name. ”

Mental Health Support.
The CHD journey can be one of the most stressful experiences a family will ever face. Having support from someone who understands not only the medical complexities but also the emotional challenges is invaluable, both during and after treatment.
We also recognize that the mental health of healthcare providers is essential, as it directly affects the quality of patient care they provide and their well-being outside of work.
That’s why we are proud to partner with Ollie’s Branch, a program within the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation. Ollie’s Branch offers mental health services to family members of those affected by CHD, as well as heart healthcare professionals. Through completion of an intake questionnaire, they carefully consider many factors in matching the family with a therapist who has familiarity with CHD. Importantly, the fees for these services are based on the family’s ability to pay, and many are provided at no cost.
