Cardiac families often experience changes in income, exhaust their paid work leave, and are left with increased expenses related to their child’s care. The Brett Boyer Foundation helps bring much needed relief to our CHOP cardiac families.
— Social Worker, Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
The little Mother’s Day gift that I got while my daughter was in the hospital seriously meant so much to me that it brought me to tears. It was one of the first times I didn’t feel alone.
— Heart Mom, Alie

Mental Health Support

  • 440+ Therapy sessions funded via our partnership with Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation

  • Continued to provide full or partial funding of mental health professionals at 2 partner hospitals

  • Launched a bi-weekly Squires Support Group for inpatient families at partner hospital

My husband and I sought out therapy after losing our heart warrior. It was helpful, but our therapist had no idea what CHD was or what we witnessed together. The therapy I have now received through Ollie’s Branch funded by BBF has changed my life.
— Heart Mom
As a way to increase normalization of the hospital environment and encourage positive self-care and coping, the Brett Boyer Foundation partnered with us to start our Squires Unit Support Group, which has already demonstrated its positive effect on our unit in the short year that we have been doing it!
— Social Worker, Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt

CHD Research

  • 2025 grant awards brings total funded research to 25 projects in 19 institutions

  • FDA begins to regulate the partial heart transplant bringing total procedures to 24 and counting

Partial heart transplantation wouldn’t be here today without the research funding of The Brett Boyer Foundation and I’m pleased to say that The Foundation continues to support partial heart transplantation in order to help more and more children with this really revolutionary approach.
— Dr. Joe Turek, Duke Children's
We are incredibly thankful for the Brett Boyer Foundation and all they are doing to advance research and promote awareness for congenital heart disease.
— Heart Mom, Becky

Down Syndrome Awareness

  • Ellen Boyer named Best Buddies 2024 “Mother Of The Year” and given their Spirit of Leadership award

  • A 5th recipient is awarded the annual Brett Boyer Foundation Scholarship in partnership with Ruby’s Rainbow

Ellen has built an incredible organization out of what most people would see as a heartbreaking tragedy, to lose a child at 7 months of age to CHD, but to be so proud to have a child with Down syndrome - she turned that tragedy into a gift for our communities.
— Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Best Buddies
